Some Area In Kuching Flooded.

5th Jan 2012, heavy down pour in the wee hour of the early morning has caused flood at some low laying area Kuching. Even some area never flooded before were flooded.

I went home from Thomas's house around midnight and rain were pouring! Guess that some area might be flooded if its doesn't stop. Get up early and saw people posting flood picture on facebook. Its just look serious! My area not affected, Hui Hui and me head out for breakfast and after that, drove to nearby where I stay to hopefully snap some pictures and ofcause I don't wanna go far as don't want to contribute to traffic jam.

The nearest flood prompt area is along Batu Kawa where the workshop at a wooden house is. I just doesn't think this place is low. Its just a poorly build drain and the water overflowing onto everywhere.

Later before noon, we get to know that flood have swept away 2 victims, a student and a shell station attendant at Rock Road. To my knowledge that area never flooded before. I guess that the land filling of the ex-government quarter area has cause the water to be displaced/overflow onto the road.

Drive to Ulu Sg Maong to check the water level, its seem that the water level has receded but still lots of car parking on the bridge. Head home and stay home for the rest of the day...

School closed as flooded, this kid were swimming at the flooded yard.
I parked my car far near my housing area and walk on food to here.
Cars parked on the curve.
One side of the road affected. the other side were clear.
This area, look like whole area flooded as only 1 small drain directing the flow of the water.
Taking precaution crossing the flooded road. If go in fast, might lost control.
Early this morning, I believe the water level were higher.
This is the only drain that directing the floor of the water down to Sunny Hill Housing Area than to Sg, Maong.
Cerasan Marketing, Kuching branch. Not affected by flood.
Sg. Maong! Look at that water!
Maybe at that time they know that has 2 person been swept away which I don't know till I get home.
Toyota Ceres, old time favorite after Levin Ae86.
Water receded.
At home, looking for thing to photograph.
This look interesting. using 17-40mm.
